The town of Limone sul Garda is a thriving, popular resort and is centered around an old fishing village of narrow, winding streets and walkways. Limone is situated at the foot of tall, rocky cliffs with the mountains on one side and the Lake on the other. Until 1932, there was no main road into Limone and the only access was from across the mountains or across Lake Garda.

Now, the picturesque Gardesana Occidentale Road, with its many long and narrow tunnels, has opened up the town to all. The result is a bustling, popular resort on Lake Garda with brightly coloured traditional buildings, shops and cafes, and charming and busy piazzas. Limone is also a popular destination for the many coach and touring excusrions that go round the Lake as well as being an established destination for the many ferries that travel up and down Lake Garda.
